OoakosiMo Artist Statement: "Tastes Like Metal: Spits Gold"

Overview

In the gritty underbelly of digital chaos, this evolving series drops glitchy, monster-cat machines that chew on capitalism's edges—biting the system, selling the bite, and flashing a fanged grin. It's a raw critique of hustle culture wrapped in playful interactivity, starting as p5.js sketches inscribed on Tezos blockchain for that immortal edge. From there, it mutated into vanilla JavaScript beasts roaming Ordinals/Doginals, Neocities drops, and GridChonk grids. These cats aren't just pixels; they're synthetic survivors spitting "gold" (value, vibes, whatever) amid the noise, echoing the real-world grind where creation demands sweat, gear, and grit.

The Flip: From Audio-Reactive Roots to Visuals-Driven Symphonies

My live gigs in Manila's modular synth scene—busking ancient Intramuros walls or dim club corners with a projector beaming audio-reactive visuals—set the foundation. Hauling five bags solo (laptop backpack, yoga-sling for the stand, shoulders loaded), navigating tricycle hops from Amadeo to Silang then Grab rides punching through skyway tolls... it's the unseen hustle fueling the magic. Those no-frills community meetups, where synth producers jam without budgets, push me to flip the script digitally: instead of sound dictating visuals, here the visuals command the audio. Click one cat, and it ripples—triggering movements, color glitches, and layered hums across 5-6 elements on the page or board. Polyphonic melodies emerge, not overwhelming but hypnotic, like a background orchestra you conduct with chaos. It's therapeutic AF: random pokes birth unexpected chains, turning static art into a portable jam session—no gear lugging required.

Tech & Remix Madness

Why It Hits Different (The Hangover Effect)

These pieces capture the solo artist's edge—dedication that turns obstacles into fuel, like those gear-hauling treks costing a chunk (round trips stacking to 4-5k PHP) just to light up a crowd. But digitally? It's liberation: open a tab, click into infinity, watch the cats react in sonic rebellion. No invites needed if the vibe's off; this series thrives on its own terms, evolving endlessly for the underground crew who gets it.

A Note on Process & Transparency: Raw data's mine; polish is synthetic!

All ideas, stories, and art are 100% mine. As a neurodivergent creator my brain jumps wild with run-on sentences, no punctuation, and thought leaps that some rad friends like Ambig Art (Chonkly) or Max Osiris indulge and enjoy. But yeah, it can overwhelm folks, so AI structured what I spilled in our chat. If you dig the unfiltered threads, check 'em, 'cause mean noise exists, I'm sensitive and on some days very intolerant to that noise, but we keep creating anyway. If ai as a tool resonates, cool; if not, keep scrolling and FeckOFF.

If Interested to Collect/Buy/Trade:

Dive into the hustle—grab via Ethereum/Tezos wallet, or snag a physical Papermint Wallet (inspired by Lenara's in Berlin concept) as your tangible Certificate of Authenticity/Ownership. It's a printed seed-loaded beast holding the art: treat it like gold (secure/transfer to your wallet ASAP). Hard to craft, but bridges digital rebellion to real-world grip for non-crypto crews.

DM or reply for Papermint deets—limited, handmade chaos.
